Volunteers of The R.E.A.C.H Distributing pallatives of Food items at no cost to Echue Timber and Abah Waterfront residents

On the 18th of April 2020, @The REACH team of Volunteers visited two locations (Echue Timber Waterfront and Abah Waterfront, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State); Over 350 residents were supplied Food Palliatives at no cost by the #TheREACHOutreach.

During the “De-Briefing Session with the Coordinator of the R.E.A.C.H Project-(Reach Every Available Communal Household), Floretta Halliday -Managing Director, Menage Limited, Board Member, FATE Foundation LTD/GTE Port Harcourt, Active Member, Organised Private Sector Rivers State, Visible Member, Port Harcourt Chamber Of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture-PHCCIMA-) and Lead Volunteer (Ibinabo Amakiri – Founder and Creative Entrepreneur at Afro Nation) among other Steering Committee Members; It was agreed that Social-Distancing will be observed for the Vulnerable and the team as they try to “Reach out to the Unreached and Underserved”.

The Coordinator (Floretta Halliday-MD, Menage Ltd) of The R.E.A.C.H Project and the Lead Volunteers (Ibinbo Amakiri-Founder, Afro Nation) in the middle during De-Briefing exercise.

Beneficiaries of the Food Relief Palliatives, and a lot of vulnerable, mistake the Palliatives coming from the outreach to be a Government Palliatives.

After the exercise, the beneficiaries were happy and filled with smiles. Unfortunately, a group of rough looking young men trailed and followed the team, luckily with the help of the SARs team (A department of Nigerian Police Force) confronted them and displaced them.
